Caitlin Elizabeth Recker

Caitlin Elizabeth Recker, age 5, of Lancaster, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster after a courageous battle with cancer . She was born July 12, 2002 in Lancaster, WI; the daughter of Benjamin and Sara (Mumm) Recker. Caitlin was a kindergartener at St. Clement Catholic School in Lancaster. Her loving way was very contagious to all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Ben and Sara Recker, Lancaster; her brother, Joey and sister, Carolyn, both at home; grandparents, Bob and Kitty Mumm, Lancaster; Ed and Carol Recker, Lancaster; great-grandparents, Germaine Mumm, Lancaster; Francis Richgels, Lancaster; Victor Recker, Bloomington; Shirley Bausch, Mount Hope; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Vincent Mumm, Catherine Richgels, Alice Recker, and Fred Sonny Bausch; and her great-aunt, Mary Frances (Richgels) Turner.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, South Lancaster Township. Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church, and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning until the time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given to the Caitlin Elizabeth Recker Memorial Fund.
