Charlotte May Dressler, age 91, of 100 White Street, Potosi, died Monday, October 31, 2011, at Orchard Manor, Lancaster, Wisconsin. She was born July 11, 1920, to Andrew and Cora (Loetscher) Yoose, in South Lancaster Township. A 1937 graduate of Lancaster High School, she received a rural teaching certificate from Platteville State Teachers College in 1941, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1964. Charlotte taught in area schools for over 40 years, retiring in 1989.
Preceding her in death were her husband of nearly 60 years, Alfred Dressler, daughter Patricia (Knapp) Durley, sisters: Elizabeth Cass and Linda Slaght, and brothers Harold and Calvin Yoose.
She is survived by a brother, Ivan Yoose, son-in-law, William Durley, and grandchildren Kathy (Dennis) Freiheit, Cheryl (Eric) Forsberg, Randal (Terry) Durley, and Debra (Scott Busch) Durley, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Davies Memorial Untied Church of Christ in Potosi with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery, South Lancaster Township. Family and friends called on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
