Dean P. VonGlahn

Dec 16, 1943 — Sep 27, 2026

LANCASTER – Dean P. VonGlahn, age 82, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Lancaster Health Services, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 16, 1943, in Belmont, the son of Fredrick “Fritz” and Marguerite (Speth) VonGlahn. Dean attended high school in Belmont. After being drafted into the United States Army, he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

Dean spent much of his working life as an over-the-road semi driver, a career he took great pride in. After retiring from the road, he stayed busy working with a local landscaping company.

Dean was united in marriage to Deb Foht in July 2001. The two of them built a life they cherished in northern Wisconsin.

Dean had a lifelong passion for sports, the outdoors, and the simple pleasures of life. Baseball played a crucial role throughout his life, along with bowling, hunting, and fishing. If you couldn’t find him cheering on his Green Bay Packers or St. Louis Cardinals, there was a good chance you could find him in his fishing boat. Dean valued time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and loved watching them take part in their sports and activities.

If you asked Dean to describe himself, he would answer: "just another guy who loved family & friends." But to those who knew and loved him, he was much more.

Survivors include his children: Shannon (Michelle), Sherri, Ryan VonGlahn and Renee (Kevin) Timmerman; stepdaughter; Kelly (John) Jacobs; his grandchildren: Todd, Brooke, Haley, Caden, Tyler, and Archer; several step grandchildren: Brody (Runde) Kluge, Juliana, Audrey, John, and Luke Jacobs; his siblings: Nancy Aurit and Judy (Bud) Beyler.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Deb in 2024; stepson Brett Runde; and his brothers: Thomas, John “Jack” and Robert VonGlahn.

In keeping with Dean’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank Dr Eric Slane, the High Point Family Medicine staff and Agrace Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
