Elsie I. Noble

September 19, 1931 — December 14, 2025

Lancaster

Elsie Ida (Landon) Noble, age 94, of Lancaster, earned her angel wings on Dec. 14, 2025, at Orchard Manor, surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born on Sept. 19, 1931, to Neva (Taylor) and Ray Landon in Lancaster, WI. She was joined by her brother, Harvey, and her sisters, Veda, June, and Rachael. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart, Stanley Noble, on May 6, 1950, and together they began their love of farming. In 1967, they co-hosted the Wisconsin Farm Progress Days in the new home they built together.

Elsie's greatest joy was her family. She and Stanley were blessed with five children. She was a wonderful mother who set a great example and always gave her love and dedication to everything she did. You could always see Elsie in the audience, supporting her children. This passion continued when Elsie became a grandmother. She was a devoted grandmother who took great pride in all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made all of them feel loved and special.

Elsie was a conscientious woman with a very strong work ethic. Along with taking care of her family, Elsie also worked outside of her home. She was first employed by the Lancaster Hotel as a waitress. Later, she was hired as a proofreader for the Grant County Herald Independent. Elsie then helped Stan establish the former CFN Feeds and worked alongside him as the bookkeeper for the business. However, Elsie always knew the most important job in her life, and the one she loved the most was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Elsie enjoyed doing many things in her free time. Elsie had a passion for sports, and you could always find her cheering in the stands for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildrens’ games. During her free-time, she enjoyed cooking, golfing, and playing cards. She was also an active member of the local Red Hatters.

Surviving Elsie are her five children: Terry (Kris) Noble, Kris Wolf, Bob (Diane) Noble, Kathy (Rod) Vogelsberg, and Doug (Amy) Noble; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Jeidy and Wilma Noble; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley; her parents, Ray and Neva Landon; her father and mother-in-law, George and Gertrude Noble; brother Harvey, sister Racheal, sister Veda Govier, and sister June Larson; brother-in-laws Glenn Govier and Neil Larson; and son-in-law Doug Wolf.
