Jane Schneider, age 81, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on October 29, 2025.
Jane was born on February 22, 1944, to Louis (Bud) and Ethel Kemper. She attended the one-room Aupperle School and graduated from Lancaster High School. While in school, she met the love of her life, Gary Schneider. The couple lived and worked in Madison, Wisconsin, for a time before returning to Lancaster to build their life together on the farm. Jane also worked as an office administrator for Lippert Components and later as a clerk at MaCandi’s Boutique.
Jane will be remembered for her deep love of family, faith, and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones. The family created many cherished memories camping at Jellystone and taking annual trips to Minocqua, Wisconsin. In later years, she continued the tradition with her grandchildren on yearly trips to Christmas Mountain in Wisconsin Dells—always bringing along plenty of delicious food, snacks and desserts.
Jane was a steadfast supporter of her grandchildren, attending their events with a bright smile and a warm hug. A woman of strong faith, she was an active member of Bethlehem E & R Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as the Sunday School treasurer for several years. She also loved playing cards and enjoyed being part of various card clubs and gatherings with friends. She loved living on the farm, caring for the animals, feeding the birds and watching the wildlife.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Gary; daughters Jennifer (Marty) Abing and Jody (Kurt) Sturmer; daughter-in-law Mari Schneider; eight grandchildren: Chloe and Luke Abing, Katie (Matthew) Cook-Sturmer and Anna Sturmer, and Wesson, Mesa, Tucker, and Tessa Schneider; her twin sister, Judy Eyers; and her brother, John (Sharon) Kemper. She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Schneider, her sister, Susan Stitch, and her brother-in-law Neil Eyers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem E & R Church in Lancaster, with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial will be in Aupperle Cemetery, Ellenboro Township. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory is entrusted with her care.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Home Instead Caregivers for their kind and compassionate support. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem E & R Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
