Janice K. Joyce

CASSVILLE – Janice Kay Joyce, age 83, of Cassville, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Janice was born on March 22, 1942, in Sauk County, Wisconsin, to Elgin and Etha (Griffin) Canaan. She began her education in a country school before moving with her family to Livingston, where she later graduated from Livingston High School in 1960. In 2003, she continued her education at Southwest Technical College, earning her CNA certification. Janice married Thomas F. Bass in 1960, and they later divorced in 1982. On May 7, 1983, she married John S. Joyce, and together they made their home on John’s family farm. Janice found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who loved crocheting prayer shawls, gardening, traveling on bus tours, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking for those she loved.

Survivors include her children: Thomas E. Bass and Lynda (Doug) Enzenroth; five grandchildren: Thomas R. and Matthew J. Bass, Jonathon S. and Jessica M. Powell, and Nathaniel K. Justham; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Gregory Canaan; sister, Sherry (Tim) Nickel; and many nieces and nephews.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Thomas F. Bass; husband, John S. Joyce; brother, Theone E. Canaan; and sister-in-law, Irene Canaan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at J&J Sandbar, 1110 E. Amelia St, Cassville, Wisconsin 53806. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
