John "Jack" Trumm

GLEN HAVEN - John "Jack" Alexander Trumm, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on July 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. While his family grieves his loss, they rejoice knowing he is finally home with his Lord and Savior—a reunion he had anticipated with unwavering faith.

Jack was born on October 18, 1937, in Glen Haven, Wisconsin, to Ralph and Loretta (Esser) Trumm.

On May 31, 1958, Jack married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Jane Ertz. Together they shared nearly seven decades of marriage, building a home rooted in faith, laughter, and unconditional love.

Farming wasn't simply Jack's occupation—it was part of who he was. When pancreatic cancer forced him to leave farming in 1994, he met the challenge with quiet strength and unwavering determination. After surviving cancer, he discovered a passion for woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that reflected the same skill, creativity, and care he had devoted to the land.

Jack’s greatest joy was always his family. Whether cheering from the stands, attending concerts, celebrating birthdays, or simply gathering around the table, he wanted to be present. He was endlessly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also had a gift for making people laugh with his perfectly timed dad jokes, goofy faces, and playful sense of humor—memories that continue to bring smiles through tears.

Above everything else, Jack loved Jesus. His faith shaped the way he lived every day. He faithfully hosted Bible studies with friends, shared God's Word with nursing home residents, and never hesitated to tell others what God had done in his life. His greatest hope was that those he loved would one day share eternity with him.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Loretta (Esser) Trumm; his siblings, Ruth (Norman) Metcalf, Bill (Jeannie) Trumm, and Roger Trumm; his two infant children, Terry Ralph Trumm and Mary Beth Trumm; his brothers-in-law, Richard Krausman and Albert Ertz; and his sisters-in-law, Rosanna Miles, Bernadine (Merlin) Helbing, and Mary (Zeke) Konichek.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane (Ertz) Trumm; his children: Kenneth (Shirlee) Trumm and Jackie (Bart) Dobers; his sisters: Joanne Krausman and Sandra (Tom) Reed; his brothers-in-law: Gene (Georgia) Ertz and Stanley Miles; his sisters-in-law: Phyllis Ertz and Yvonne Trumm; his four cherished grandchildren: Josh (Alex) Trumm, Jackie (Trevor) Kattre, Amanda (Ethan) Urban and Katelynn Dobers; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Jack's legacy lives on in the faith he shared, the laughter he inspired, the example he set, and the family he loved so deeply.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11: 30 a.m. at Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. A private family burial will be held in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a church or charity of your choice in Jack's honor.
