LANCASTER – John F. “Johnny U.” Udelhoven, age 74, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. He was born June 2, 1951, the son of Merlin and Jenny (Reed) Udelhoven. John graduated from Potosi High School in 1969 and went on to spend nearly 40 years working at Georgia-Pacific in Dubuque, Iowa. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found deer or bear hunting, or out fishing. John also enjoyed playing cards and sharing a cold beer with friends—after all, as he liked to say, “they’re all good if they’re cold and free.”
John is survived by his siblings: Cheryl Patcle, Lynn (Terry) Stoney, and Kevin (Peggy) Udelhoven; nieces and nephews: Kim (Kevin Bennett) Stoney, Dave Stoney, Shelly (Andy) Butler, Kaitlin, Chris (Catie), Tyler (Megan), Jacob (Ashley), Max (Sydney Schroeder), Dylan (Maddie Clifton), William and Zoey Udelhoven; other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Jenny; niece, Annette Stoney; and nephew, Zachary Udelhoven.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCartney Corners, 8193 State Road 133, Cassville, Wisconsin. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
