John W. Schwantes

LANCASTER – John W. Schwantes, age 62, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI. John was born on February 12, 1960, the son of Richard and Leona (Peake) Schwantes. He attended Lancaster High School followed by Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. John lived and worked for many years in the Seattle, WA area prior to returning to Lancaster.
John is survived by his mother, Leona; two sisters, Jane Schwantes of Lancaster and Joan (Jim) Welters of Plymouth, MN; one brother, Rick (Karen) Schwantes of Lancaster. He is also survived by nieces: Kris (Steve) Thompson, Kim (Christopher) Buchta, Katie Schwantes and one nephew, Jason Welters; 6 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard.
Per John’s request, there will be no services. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lancaster EMS and Agrace HospiceCare. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with his care.
