Joseph H. Womack

Joseph H. Womack, age 79, of Belmont , WI , died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at his home.

Joe was born on November 15, 1933 in Platteville , WI , a son of Guerdon & Berneice (Manual) Womack.

He married Della A. Johnson on June 24, 1961, at the Lutheran Church of Peace in Platteville.

Joe had a strong personal faith, and was a member of Lutheran Church of Peace. He loved being a grandfather, and enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. Joe worked at Thermolyne in Dubuque , until his retirement.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Karen Womack of Platteville; three grandchildren, Trent, Megan, and McKenzie Schroeder; and nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Della, in 2008; his parents; two sisters, Helen Jones, and Dorothy Creasy; and several infant brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services were held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Lutheran Church of Peace in Platteville, with Pastor Jeffrey Pederson officiating. Burial was at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville. Visitation was from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service Saturday at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville is assisting the family.
