Kim R. Govier

Kim Robert Govier, age 66, of Madison, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1959, in Lancaster, a twin son of David and Ruth (Koons) Govier. Kim attended Lancaster schools, enjoyed arm wrestling, and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1979. He then moved to Madison where he taught weightlifting at the YMCA. Kim later moved to a group home, and it was there he met the love of his life, Lorraine “Susie” Michaels. They were married in 2012 on the first day of spring and have been inseparable ever since. They shared their love of playing cribbage and watching movies. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2017. Kim grew up on the family farm and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his brothers: Kevin (Lois) Govier and Kurt (Teresa) Govier; nephews: Dan, Kalvin, Keith and Kyle Govier; other relatives and friends.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lorraine.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1234 S Madison St., Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
