LANCASTER - Marsha R. Pace, age 78, of Lancaster, passed away on February 8, 2026, at Lancaster Health Services after a long and courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by loved ones and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marsha was born on April 24, 1947, in the Township of Beetown, to Vernon and Alta (Bishell) Laufenberg. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1965, and later that year, she married the love of her life, John Pace. Together, they raised five children. Marsha furthered her education at Southwest Vocational Technical College in Fennimore, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse.
A devoted caregiver, Marsha spent many years working at Lancaster Memorial Hospital, later known as Grant Regional Health Center. As a nurse, she touched the lives of countless patients and their families, always providing care with compassion and kindness.
Marsha was a lifetime member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, where she assisted her husband in numerous Knights of Columbus events. A passionate sports fan, Marsha was a dedicated supporter of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. She loved attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, music performances and school activities. Above all, Marsha cherished the time spent with her family, and her love for them was immeasurable.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Pace; children Cece (Steve) Fishnick, Veronica (Joe) Breitsprecker, Bridget (Bob) Haas, Virginia (Jen) (Davin (Shrev)) Olson and Jason (Kari) Pace; grandchildren Brad (Kate) Fishnick, Brittany Fishnick, Stephanie (Steve) Scullion, Gina (Ryan) Brendemuehl, Jeremy (Amanda) Haas, Anthony (Dani) Haas, Lucas (Kelsey) Haas, Ryan (Megan) Langmeier, Dillon Olson, Kolt Pace and Klay Pace; great-grandchildren Ella, Haley, Kinsley, Jaydon, Joe, Carter, Jazmyn, Madison, Jamie, Brynlee, Hailee, Paislee, Caden, Ryder, Gunner, and Jemma; sisters Gloria (Jim) Cooley, Alverna (Bob) Esser, Joyce (Kenny) Zenz; sisters-in-law Opal Laufenberg, Bev Burkholder, Lillian Pace, Roberta (Jim) Jeffries; and brothers-in-law David Pace and Kevin Pace.
In addition to her parents, Marsha was preceded in death by her brother Orville Laufenberg; sisters Leila Schmitz and Rosie Hosch; sisters in law Betty Pace, Delores Pace and Tene Pace; brothers-in-law Victor Burkholder, Dennis Pace, Alan Pace and Tim Pace; beloved pet Snickers, and her precious granddaughter Jamie Lee Haas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father Steve Brunner officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care. A luncheon will follow in the church basement.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to ALS research in Marsha’s name.
