Misty Koeller, age 45, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away at home on March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. She now rests in her eternal home in Heaven. Misty was born on December 16, 1980, to Melvin and Marie (Guinn) Streif of Lancaster. Misty was known for her deep love, unwavering faith, and a heart devoted to others. To know Misty was to be loved by her, as she lived her life with genuine compassion and intentional kindness in all she did. Her greatest joy was her family. She could not wait to be a wife and mother. Misty shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Brian. They were married on November 16, 2013, and were blessed with two wonderful children, Meleah and Jase. She loved them deeply and took great pride in watching them grow, play sports, dance, and experience life. Misty was known as “Dede” to her nieces and nephew: Janessa, Mason, and Kya. She deeply cherished the special bond she shared with them. She treasured time spent together, around the table playing cards, laughing through game nights, and simply enjoying the comfort of family.Misty built deep and meaningful relationships wherever she went. She was known for her kindness, encouragement, and the way she made others feel valued. She truly loved being a nurse and found great joy in educating and teaching others. Misty completed her Associate Degree in Nursing at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in 2003, followed by the completion of her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Viterbo University in 2006, and her Master of Science in Nursing Education at UW-Madison in 2011. Her compassion has left a lasting ripple in the nursing profession.Whether she was helping welcome a new life into the world or caring for someone’s loved one, Misty cherished the gift God had given her to be a nurse. In the later years of her career, she poured her knowledge and passion into mentoring new nurses—a legacy that will continue to shine for years to come. She had a remarkable gift for connection, forming friendships that were deep, lasting, and genuinely meaningful. Her kindness, warmth, and easy laughter drew others in, and she nurtured those relationships with care and sincerity. She held a special place in her heart for her “Golden Girls”, her fellow nurses, and her Bible study ladies–but every friendship was special and everlasting.Above all, she was a woman of strong and unshakable faith. The truth of the Bible, first instilled in her by her mother, guided her life and became her purpose—to share her faith boldly and give glory to God. She trusted God through every challenge and inspired others to grow in their faith.
