MOUNT HOPE - Robert F. Bausch, age 64, of Mount Hope, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Grant Regional Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1962, in Lancaster, WI, the son of Shirley and Frederick Bausch. He was the father of two children, Wyatt and Codi Bausch, who were an important part of his life. Robert was a hardworking, stubborn man who lived life on his own terms. He wasn’t afraid of a little hard work, getting his hands dirty, or telling you exactly what he thought. Once he had his mind made up about something, there wasn’t much anyone could do to change it. But that stubbornness was just part of what made Robert who he was, and something those closest to him will always remember. Robert found happiness in the simple things in life. He loved being outdoors, spending time fishing, and hanging out in his garage. He didn’t need anything fancy to enjoy himself. Whether he was working on a project, tinkering around in the garage, or simply enjoying some peace and quiet, he was content doing things his own way. Above all, Robert leaves behind a lifetime of memories with those who loved him. His absence will be felt in the everyday moments, in the quiet of his garage, on a beautiful day spent outdoors, and in all the little things that will forever remind his family of him.
Survivors include his children, Wyatt and Codi Bausch; his significant other Jodi McGrain along with her children and grandchildren; his siblings: Patricia (Kim) Stage, Richland Center, Dorothy (Don) Gerardy, Potosi, Carol (Ed) Recker, Lancaster, Lois (Steve) Ellis, Fennimore, Laura (Craig) LaPoint, Mankato, MN; many nieces and nephews, and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Frederick, and grandparents.
While his family wishes they had more time with him, they will forever hold on to the memories, lessons, and stories he leaves behind. He may no longer be here, but a piece of him will always remain with those who knew and loved him.
