Rosanna M. (Ertz) Miles, age 95, gained her angel wings on November 4, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Rosie was a devoted and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was a reflection of love, dedication, and unwavering faith. With a heart centered on her family and a spirit grounded in her beliefs, she lived each day with grace, kindness, and compassion. Rosie was born on August 18, 1930, in Bloomington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Wiest) Ertz.
On June 10, 1950, Rosie married her beloved husband, Stanley C. Miles, beginning a life filled with devotion, purpose, and shared dreams. Together, they built a home on the farm, working hand in hand through early mornings, long days, and countless seasons. Their greatest pride was their family, raising nine children with love, faith, and a strong foundation rooted in hard work and gratitude for the life they created. Rosie and Stan’s life together was a beautiful reflection of deep love, commitment, and partnership, and the legacy they created continues to flourish through the family they cherished. Stan and Rosie were blessed to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary this past June, a rare and extraordinary milestone that stood as a testament to their enduring love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to one another.
After dedicating their lives to farming, Rosie and Stan began a new chapter together in Mesa, Arizona, that included nearly 20 years of “snowbirding,” embracing the sunshine and the slower pace they had earned. Rosie enjoyed daily walks with Stan, cherished friendly games like dominoes, and cards, and delighted in exploring the surrounding area, finding beauty and adventure wherever they went. Their time in Mesa brought not only rest and joy, but also a circle of treasured new friends who became like family. These years were filled with laughter, companionship, and countless memories that reflected the love and gratitude Rosie carried through her later years.
Rosie’s life was deeply guided by her steadfast Catholic faith, which remained a constant source of strength, comfort, and purpose throughout her years. She lived her beliefs with quiet grace, participating in the life of the Church and carrying her devotion into her daily actions through kindness, prayer, and service to others. Rosie spent her early life as a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, and then the last 65 years at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Her faith shaped the values she passed on to her family and grounded her in both joyful moments and times of sorrow. Rosie’s gentle spirit and unwavering trust in God leave a legacy of faith that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Rosie is survived by her husband of 75 years, eight children, 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a sister and a brother.
