Steven J. "Steve" Bierman

BLOOMINGTON - Steven J. Bierman, age 73, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lancaster, WI, on March 13, 1953, the son of Henry and Alice (Ploessl) Bierman. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1971. Steve married Nan Nemitz on June 8, 1974. Though their journey did not last forever, they welcomed two sons. Steve was a jack of all trades doing all kinds of carpentry work. He specifically enjoyed his time building log cabins out East and working with his brothers. In his free time, Steve enjoyed meals at Ma’s Bakery, drinks and playing cards with friends and his many motorcycle trips. He also enjoyed family visits to see loved ones.

He is survived by his two sons: Chad (Becky) Bierman and Ben (Kally) Bierman; his grandchildren: Morgan, Brock, Peyton, Mikaila and Ethan; his five brothers: Bob (Nancy), Mark (Deb), Mike (Carolyn), Jim (Rose), and Jeff (Sherry Sikora) Bierman; his two sisters: Kay Schmidt and Ginny (Don Dressler) Bierman; two sisters-in-law: Rita Bierman and Cathy Bierman; brother-in-law, Charlie Kitelinger; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Gary, Larry and Joe; his sister, Sue Kitelinger: and brother-in-law, Jack Schmidt.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bierman Barn - 10811 Birch Rd Bloomington, WI 53804. A private burial will take place with family. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bloomington is assisting the family.

The family would like to especially thank all those who have helped Steve in the last few years from drives, meals, visits, care, and even small chats to help keep him company and make him feel special.
