Susan J. Gotto

October 23, 1949 — October 28, 2025

Bagley

Susan Jean Gotto, age 76, of Bagley, WI, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 23, 1949, in Prairie Du Chien, Sue was the heart and soul of her family — a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Together with her husband, Nick, they built a life rooted in hard work, love, and faith on their family farm.

A proud mother of five boys, Matt, Chris, Lee, John and Joshua, she poured her strength and kindness into raising her sons, teaching them the values of honesty, perseverance, compassion and the value of humor. She faced life’s joys and challenges with quiet courage, including the loss of her infant son, Joshua, whose memory she carried close to her heart.

For 23 years, Sue served as a secretary for the River Ridge School District, where she was known for her warmth, efficiency, and steady presence. Her welcoming smile and caring nature touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and community members.

Sue lived life fully and with gratitude. She loved riding her bike on country roads, cross-country skiing through peaceful winter trails, and taking UTV rides with her beloved dogs by her side. Some of her happiest moments were spent on vacations with her sisters and family, and on fishing trips with her devoted husband and their many friends. She cherished these times of laughter, companionship, and the simple beauty of nature. Sue dearly loved attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Above all, Sue was deeply devoted to her husband, Nick. Their partnership was one of mutual respect, enduring love, and shared joy — a true testament to a lifetime of commitment and care.

Beyond her work and hobbies, Sue was known for her gentle humor, steadfast faith, and generous heart. Whether tending to her garden, preparing a home-cooked meal, baking pies or offering a listening ear, she lived each day with grace and purpose.

She is survived by her husband Nick, sons Matt, Chris (Kate) Lee (Becky) and John (Melissa), twelve grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren, her three sisters and six brothers.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her infant son, Joshua, her brothers, Mark and Dennis Wagner and brother-in-law, Jim Gotto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bloomington is entrusted with her care.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Agrace Hospice, Home Instead Caregivers, and Prairie Maison.

Sue’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
