Virginia D. Yoose

February 25, 1927 — April 26, 2026

Lancaster

Virginia D. “Ginger” Yoose, age 99, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on February 25, 1927, in Lancaster, the daughter of George and Mildred (Hoffman) Weiland. Ginger graduated from Lancaster High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Earl M. Yoose on September 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2000. Virginia and Earl farmed their entire lives living in the Hurricane area and retiring to life in Lancaster. They grew up neighbors and after marriage settled on the farm next to Virginia’s parents on Irish Hollow Road. As a child for a time, Virginia lived on County N where the round barn was originally located until it moved to Vesperman Farms. Ginger farmed every day of her life working to raise her two children and give them a sense of purpose and love. Earl and Ginger had a circle of friendships that would vacation inside and outside of the USA borders and many dinners at Friedman’s Supper Club.

Virginia had a close-knit group of friends who included her in outings, fun events, shopping, and visiting others. She loved to have a good time and laugh and was not above crawling in the stock tank with grandkids. She loved a good cold beer and was not afraid to throw back a shot of Tequila! She had a strong sense of purpose and quiet kindness.

Survivors include her five grandchildren: Ethan Yoose, Lucas (Ashley) Yoose, Matt Udelhoven, Tara (Randy) Welch, and Travis Roberts; five great-grandchildren: Taylor and Kendall Udelhoven, Zachary Welch and Michael and Gabriel Roberts; her sister, June (Wieland) Gingras Mulveena; and daughter-in-law, Elly Yoose.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Earl, Ginger was preceded in death by her two children: Vicki on October 12, 2020, and Mickey on January 15, 2019.
