William J. “Bill” Haas, age 62, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at UW Hospitals in Madison. He was born on July 29, 1963, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Monroe and Dorothy (Vesperman) Haas. Bill graduated from Lancaster High School in 1982. He attended Southwest Wisconsin Technical College for small engine repair and later attended trucking school. On October 29, 1988, Bill was united in marriage to Karla Salmon. After their marriage, Bill was employed with H.O. Wolding for 32 years and held a perfect driving record during that time. He later worked for Scott Industries, which he was currently employed with. Bill enjoyed tinkering, DIY projects, and making syrup. He was a jack of all trades. Bill was a people person and loved to talk to everyone and keep in touch with those he knew. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Karla; children: Ryan, Robert (Hannah), and Austin Haas; one grandson, Lincoln Haas; his father, Monroe Haas; brothers, Dennis and Michael Haas; mother-in-law, Alyce Salmon; brothers-in-law, Kent (Renee), Steven (Marcy) and Scott Salmon; three nephews: Trever, Bryce, and Caleb Salmon; other relatives and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Haas and his father-in-law, Edward Salmon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Kramer-Grau Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with his care.
