POTOSI – Wilma Jean Langmeier, age 90, of Potosi, Wisconsin, passed away on May 15, 2026, at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Platteville, Wisconsin. She was born on November 15, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Evelyn (Nihles) Reuter. Wilma Jean dedicated much of her life to serving her community and caring for others. She worked at the Midway Tavern for 27½ years, drove school bus for the Potosi School District for 30 years, and spent several years working at Ed and Bertha’s. Deeply involved in community organizations, she served as treasurer for both the Potosi Sportsmen Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and was an active member of the Lions Club for many years. Wilma Jean especially loved caring for children and spending time with her family. She found joy in crocheting, making an afghan for each of her grandchildren, playing euchre, tending her large garden, canning vegetables from her harvest, and watching the birds.
Survivors include her six children: Barb (Tom) Brogley, Platteville; Pauline (Steve) Campbell, Littlefield, AZ; Richard (Diane) Langmeier, Potosi; Kathy Loeffelholz, Potosi; Mike (Terri) Langmeier, Lancaster; and Ken (Sheila Allbee) Langmeier, Potosi; fourteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild with one on the way; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Wilma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and siblings: Henry, Gerald, Emmogene, Angeline, Vernetta, and Viola.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, Wisconsin, with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be held at St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Potosi is assisting the family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Agrace Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Wilma Jean during her final weeks.
